So we shot a video for new signing Ironik on tuesday. The record will be coming out on Atlantic's pop imprint, Asylum. I love Ironik. Here are some facts about the project:
- He's called Ironik because when he was nine years old he found it ironic that someone so young could be so good at DJing.
- The record features a Westlife sample re-vocalled by Daniel de Bourg who came 5th in last year's X-Factor.
- The video has Naomi Millbank-Smith off of last year's shipwrecked in it.
- Wiley and Chipmunk both have a verse on a re-mix of the track. They were supposed to be in the video: but Will didn't show up because his ex-girlfriend was there, and Chipmunk showed up but wouldn't do his verse because, according to his manager, he only had one outfit with him. Chip, how many outfits do you need to spit a few bars in someone else's video?
- The video was directed by JT at Draw Pictures whose real name I can't reveal for legal reasons (it's Simon...)
